Although, more recently, the term has adapted to mean so much more than that. My favourite summary of the word is ‘to slow down and appreciate the good things in life’, something I couldn’t agree with more – life seems to creep up on us so fast, sometimes making us forget the importance of taking time to savour the moment with people we love. After researching the true meaning of this word in depth and examining how the Swedish have integrated the concept into their daily lives, I thought it was only fitting to create a relaxing and friendly environment to spread this beautiful way of life, where ‘Fika’ can now be enjoyed by everyone, time and again.
