La Pergola, is located at Cambridge Rd, Cambridge, CB23 1HA, UK La Pergola Restaurant at The Wheatsheaf | Cambridge Road, Harlton, Cambridge, CB23 1HA Our dad, Giulio, and his family, arrived in Cambridge from a small coastal town near Naples as a young 16 year old aspiring chef in 1962. He quickly began developing his love of cooking and worked at some of the well known venues of the Cambridge eating out scene of the 1960s: The Turks Head, The Old Dot and Berni’s Inns to name a few. In the early 1970s Giulio went to work at The Copper Kettle in King’s Parade, a venue he later owned himself, and also set up the City Stop Restaurant, a popular party venue until it closed in 2007. | |
