The Crown, is located at The St, Basingstoke, RG24 7BW, UK Home – The Crown Old Basing There’s nothing better than enjoying a pint of beer or a glass of wine with some delicious food. The crown is a 16th century pub at the heart of the village Old Basing near Basingstoke Hampshire. It is a grade ll listed building and stands in one of Old Basings picturesque thoroughfares- the street. The exact date the crown was built is unknown, however it is believed that the inn dates from the time of the civil war when Oliver Cromwell’s Roundheads laid siege to the impressive Basing house, which was a very grand Tudor mansion.
