The village of Sawdon is on the edge of Wykeham Forest with its stunning viewpoint over Dalby Dale, it is well placed base to visit York and the Dinosaur Coast, the resort town of Scarborough or simply enjoy local walks and a pint in the bar at The Anvil Inn, the old blacksmith’s workshop dating from the 1700s. There’s lots of exposed stonework and a wood floor in the bar, a comfortable, elegant dining room, a cosy wood burner for chilly evenings and candlelit antique tables which all helps to create a relaxed atmosphere.
